I’m Neil. My mates called me "Mr Solution" because I’ve always gone the extra mile to find the most suitable solutions that best serve the customer—solutions others often wouldn’t think of or bother with, but that always felt like the right thing for me to do.

After decades of working in big-name garages globally and locally, I got tired of seeing people wait too long or pay too much here—especially when their truck or car was their livelihood. So, I started MR Solution with my highly skilled team—many of whom I’ve shared countless late nights and plenty of banter with—while sending off countless vehicles after our solid work, leaving behind happy customers we're proud of.

As a high-performing and dedicated team, we work around your schedule for all your automotive needs (just not tyres), get you safely back on the road as quickly as possible, and use your downtime—not your road time—to take care of the repairs.

Do I need to book before visiting?

Not at all. Swing by whenever suits you :)

We're open from 6:30am to 10pm every day, including public holidays. Just a heads-up that weekends and holidays can be quite busy. So if you're in a hurry, a quick call ahead can help you avoid the wait.

Can you provide a free quote?

Yes, we offer clear, upfront quotes with a thorough explanation after inspecting your vehicle to find the root cause. If anything is unclear, please ask. It's our job to make sure you fully understand what's going on with your vehicle.

Diagnostics are usually free, unless the issue is especially complex or takes significant time to uncover. If any costs are involved, we'll talk you through them first and only go ahead if you're happy to proceed.

We take transparency seriously because you deserve honesty. We know some of you have had frustrating experiences with repairs in the past, and it's one of the reasons Neil started this business. We're here to restore your trust in our trade and show you how we believe customers should be treated :)

How much does [...] cost?

It’s hard for us to provide a meaningful quote without first checking your vehicle, no matter how much you describe the symptoms or other mechanics' conclusions over the phone 😅. We want to be responsible for the expectations we set and, ultimately, for the outcome of the work we deliver.

The best use of both our time is for you to come in and see us. At the very least, you'll get a thorough quote with a clear understanding of the issues we’ve diagnosed, along with a firm timeframe for when we’ll have the work completed.

You're welcome to compare our quote with other workshops. We completely understand and encourage it, as we just want to ensure you get the best outcome for your vehicle and that you trust us based on your own experience :)

We don’t compete on being the cheapest, as we value our skills and how we go above and beyond to treat each customer as an individual, not just a walking wallet. However, our experience, expertise, efficiency, and tailored solutions often make our quotes more affordable, with things done right the first time.

We’d be interested to hear if you find better alternatives, as that may help us think differently about how to solve the same problem. However, please respect our efforts and avoid chasing lower prices, as the quote we provide initially is already our best offer :)

Do you offer repairs with parts supplied by customers?

We understand that some parts can be pricey, and customers may want to save by sourcing them themselves. We can consider helping on a case-by-case basis, as our top priority is ensuring your safety on the road. Feel free to come and see us with your proposal, and we’ll see what we can do. However, since the parts aren't supplied by us, we won't be able to provide a warranty on the work related to them.

Just a side note: as part of our commitment to transparency, we always itemise part costs and the number of hours worked on your invoice, so you can clearly see where your costs come from :) We also have reliable sources for second-hand parts, which is another way we help customers save whenever we can 🙌

Yes, we offer call-out services 24/7. Just give us a ring whenever you need help, and we’ll be there :)

Can I gift car services/grooming for my mates or employees?

Absolutely! We offer gift cards for both car services and car grooming, with a seamless redemption experience. We also have special rates for bulk purchases. Just email us with your ideas for treating your mates or team, and we’ll sort it out for you!

I Accidentally found the Mr solution google profile and I am very happy to see them in google. Almost 2 yers back I bought BMW from thauranga. While I was driving it to New Plymouth its gear started playing up. After visiting many workshops but no one could even give me a Clue what’s wrong with the gear box. Finally I Found Mr solution.
